SYNOPSIS OF THE CAREER OF REV. W. C. CUPE

  • While on the Christian Evangelistic field 1n 1959, Rev Cupe was divinely led to return to Columbus, Ohio and build a church
  • In March, 1959, the Liberty Temple Mission was opened in his home on Fulton Street in Columbus, OH.
  • The church relocated several times until in June 1969. ground was broken at 1155 Windsor Avenue for a new building.
  • In spite of many obstacles, the first church service was held in the new building in December, 1971.
  • In 1979, a new addition was added to the 1155 Windsor Avenue building
  • Many outreach Christian activities were established during the subsequent years.
  • In March 1991, the building at 1132 Windsor Avenue was purchased to provide expanded facilities for the church.
  • In 1995, The Royal Child Day Care Center opened in the building at 1155 Windsor Avenue
  • In 1996, apartment buildings on Windsor Avenue were purchased, and the west wing of 1132 Windsor Avenue was remodeled into classrooms.
  • In 1998, the Cupe Learning and Resource Center was opened, and the library dedication was held.
  • In October 1999, Pastor Cupe celebrated his 40th Pastoral Anniversary. Part of the celebration was a formal dinner attended by many family, friends and clergy.
  • In 2001, the W. C. Cupe Community School was opened for enrollment. The elementary school occupied a refurbished west wing of the church, was filled to capacity and enjoys tremendous success.
  • In 2005, The W. C. Cupe Community School extended its educational mission by opening two single gender middle schools; the Educational Academy for Boys and Girls.
  • In the fall of 2007, the W. C. Cupe Family of Schools expanded to a new facility at  1465 Oakland Park Avenue, serving children in grades 4-8.

If not, W.C.Cupe College Preparatory School is the place for you. We group children according to their skill level, regardless of their age. So if your child is capable of more challenging material, he or she will be sure to receive instruction in more advanced academic content.

If you wish for a rigorous academic education for your child-you should send your child to W.C. Cupe College Preparatory Schools. We concentrate on serious academic instruction all day long. All students receive at least an hour and a half of reading, an hour of spelling, and hour of English (writing and grammar) and an half an hour of spelling everyday.

If you desire careful monitoring of your child’s academic progress-then W.C. Cupe Preparatory Schools is the place for your family. We constantly monitor the progress of all our students in every subject, testing frequently to be certain students are mastering critical academic skills. We provide additional instruction until the testing shows your child has mastered the content.

If you want open and honest communication about your child’s academic progress- you should send your child to W.C.Cupe. Our innovative reporting system gives your family specific information for each academic subject every four or five weeks. These reports show the grade level on which your child is working, test scores, homework scores, and the number of missing assignments

Are you concerned about your child’s safety and security at school? If you are, then your child is in good hands here at W.C.Cupe. We have a zero-tolerance policy for fighting or bullying. Children who persist in the behavior will be removed from our school. We have a teacher to student ratio of 1 to 15. This ensures that there will be no opportunities for children to get into dangerous situations or to have unsupervised encounters with other students.
